That being said, for a wedding reception 4-5 hours, full music library, digital sound system, top notch gear and a high quality experienced professional DJ, you are going to spend $700 - $1500. If you opt to pay less for a cheaper DJ that quotes you $500 or less, unfortuneately, you'll get what you paid for.
Most DJs that choose the path of wedding receptions, deal with much competition, very demanding customers, we sometimes invest our entire life savings into the best equipment available, and invest many, many hours of our time planning and developing the perfect soundtrack for that special day, for you. So, when you come across a good DJ service, you will know usually by the rates that they earn. Please make your selection carefully, interview your DJ, once, twice, three times. Give him/her as much information as possible, and trust him.
